Some people may not realize that you need to register first before you are able to vote in the State of Florida. To signup to vote in Florida, you will need to follow these points:
For starters, decide if you are eligible to vote in Florida. You:
Must be a US citizen, Must be a resident of the State of Florida, Must be at least 18 years old(pre-registration to vote is allowed if you are 16 years old), Must NOT be judged as mentally incapacitated, Must NOT have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored, Must produce a valid current Florida drivers license or ID card, or Must provide the last four digits of your SSN if you do not have a Florida drivers license or ID card. In lieu of these items you have to check the space indicated on the registration form as NONE.
When you qualify, you will next need to complete a Florida voters registration application. Fill out the Voter Registration Application. Fill out all fields. Print the application out. Verify all info on your application is provided. Where you register, your SSN, Drivers licence number and ID card number stay confidential and are used only for registration requirements. Sign the application. Your original signature is required because you are swearing and/or affirming to an oath. Send your application on to your county Supervisor of Elections. You can opt to mail or deliver by hand this application to any Supervisor of Elections office in the state, the DMV, a registration company, an armed forces government agency, or the Division of Elections office.
Many people often question if they need to find a florida notary to notarize their application. As of the date of this article, notarizing is not necessary. If this is a new registration application in Florida, the date the complete application is postmarked or hand brought to a drivers license office, a voter registration organization, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any supervisor of elections in the state will be your registration date. You must be registered for at least 29 days before you can vote in an election. If your application is complete and you are certified as a voter, a voter information card will be mailed to you. Be sure to very carefully review the application. If the information you provide is not true, you can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to$ 5, 000 and/or imprisoned for as much as five years.
