Cheaper airport parking

Following the removal of duty free when travelling to EU countries which accounted for a high number of travellers travelling through an airport, all airports looked to other areas to increase revenue and airport parking was an obvious sector.
The fees charged by airport operators will be typically expensive than using an off airport car park and in certain circumstances the difference can be twice as much. The cost for Gatwick airport parking, parking at Heathrow, Manchester airport parking when parking off airport will be determined by the proximinity to the terminal and how much space a particular car park has left.
Off airport car parks have come a long way since they first started out and are now top class professional outfits adopting top standards in safety such as that granted under the Safer Park Mark Scheme which is an initiative of the Associations of Chief Police Officers aimed at reducing crime in particular the fear of crime in car parks. Not only is security a top priority but also these car parks run constant transport to and from the airport.
Off site car parks by there very nature have to offer lower charges to draw more customers, and even after the price of transportation and security is taken into account it demonstrates the high margins being made by the airport.
